Day CCLXXIX

Kookla

I went into the Greek diner for a nice brunch, hoping to find my favorite waitress, but she wasn’t there. Just the same I enjoyed my scrambled eggs, home fries, sausages, toast, and a linzer tart with my tea afterwards. Outside of the yada yada in the place, it was a peaceful ambience in comparison to the previous day, hell with that, to the whole freaking week. For a nano second I had an urge to lite up, but I remembered I had dumped my smokes, so I smiled, and as I started to get up, I heard,

     “Yasooo dude!” She smiled.

“Oh heck I missed ya…I was looking fo ya hot self too.”

“Really!” Her green eyes seemed to shine with glee.

“Oh yea, but I just finished… Ima hafta catcha next time kookla.” I winked at her.

“Oh I’ll be waiting dudio, ya can bet on it.” She smiled back.

I turned and walked out, then as I started walking up Fordham, out of the blue I ran into George.

     “Whoa dude- que pasa?”

“Damn watcha dooning out hea, dude?”

“I just dropped diz babe off…but watcha doing da rest ada day, man?”

“I tol ya befo, I’m taking it lite, man. I’m going back home ta rest up fo tamarah.”

“Yo, dude I needs ta go ta Queens, come wit man, we’ll has a few laffs ona way, an back.”

“Ida na man, I don’t wanna even think bout drinking anything?”

“Na na na, it ain’t like det, I has ta pick sompen up fo pop. Promise, no BS,  man. It’s a beaut of a day, it should be a weal nice dwive, man.”

    “Ida na dude!”

“So come on, looky diz cool day…why ya wanna spend it locked up in ya pad fo, man…come on!”

So there I was on my way with George again, way out to Queens on an errand, when I should have gone home.
