“Ding dong, ding dong!”
I could see an eye looking at me through the peep hole, and then she opened the door.
“Long time no see
dude…wat’s up?”
“Nothing really, just
thought I’d come up and see y’all,” I said as I handed her a bottle of wine.
“Just in time dude, we need an extra pair
of hands,” Monsey said as she came out of the living room. Marie
took the wine, and put in the freezer, then she looked at me and,
“Dude wat’s wit ya
man, ya look like deeth.”
“Woiking hoid girl!”
Then they led me into
the living room, where they were struggling to lay down a huge white carpet.
“Yea ya’s jest in
time dude, we needs help.” Monsie smiled.
“Ya hungry dude?”
Marie asked
“Yea man, ya looks
like ya needs sompen,” Monsie added.
“We gots kitchen
fresh lasagna, man."
“Damn dets wuds go
well wida wine, uh.”
“Yeaa ah!” Monsie
smiled.
“Foist things foist,
les doodiz cahpet.”
So with the two of
them supervising, and tugging here and there, we eventually managed to lay it
out. Then, we slowly put all the furniture back in place. I had arrived it seems as an answer to their prayers, a
drone to help with their remodeling. It was hot, the windows were wide open, and I
mindlessly sat on the edge of one window for a moment. The view of the GW in
the distance was always a sight to enjoy. But, I was beginning to feel tired,
maybe the acid was wearing off, I don’t know, but I slowly started to close my
eyes, when…
“Whoa!” Monsie screamed.
I remember leaning
backwards, falling back out of the window, when she frantically grabbed my shirt with both hands.
