Day CCXXV

Faith

They were spaced out, and as they moved down the stairs, the hall seemed to be spinning; the walls were silently dancing; and the stairs looked as though they were riding on an escalator. They tightly held hands, and smiled at one another.

“Damn I wondah who dem peeps be ona walls?”

     “His peeps, mebbe!”

“Ida na sweety, lookey det mofo ova da, he looks like Dracula tammee.”

     “Yea, he do don’t he?”

“Yea, an det oda one be like Vincent Price!”

“Oh sheet girl, watcha gits me ina, hea?” Morgana murmurs.

     “Me!”

“Youse wuz da one don tol us bouda pahtay.”

“Yea boot you boosted it, Oh he gots a wed Eldowado, he must be weeeech!”

“Okay, okay okay, it’s bof our faults, but if I see anything flying ova me, I’m gonna freaking sheet right hea.”

Acid can create optical illusions, and you can have a pleasant trip, like Tim Leary, and the Beatles promised. You’ll see Lucy in the Sky, yellow submarines, and cartoon characters, or you can wind up in a mental institution with a bad trip. I guess it all depends on your hangs ups, your inhibitions, your fears, acid will exacerbate them. It will take them to the bottom, and make your worst nightmares your Reality. So in your minds eye, you’ll either see angels or demons, it all depends on your psychology, your philosophy. What you believe. Morgana was into Santeria with its pantheon of African deities, their dual identities in the Catholic Church, and their pagan notions. They believe in evil spirits, chants, curses, evil spells, and the protection those African deities provide. It’s why she wore that choker around her sweet neck, for her protection against evil. The fact is that when it comes to things mystical, the charms, bracelets and what have you cannot help you. Only your faith can. So if your faith is weak, or you have none at all…you’re easy prey.
