Politics As Usual
One thing’s for sure,
tobacco litigation has become a lawyer’s gold mine. They’re getting rich off blood money, by getting the lions share
of awards on class action suits. They’re just as bad as the politicians who
tax the blood money, and then put it in a general purse, when it should be
going into health care, and medical research for tobacco’s victims- us.
Victims, uh…well
yea! During the Great War, they gave the troops free smokes. The military gets
a big discount on tobacco. I don’t know about now, but when I was in the
service, we paid half what civilians paid. We’re victims of the greatest seduction,
er…scam, bamboozlement ever; we’ve been hammered night and day by commercials
in all media, television, print, and the movies. Hollywood is complicit in all of it. Movies
still have characters smoking in them. It says it’s art portraying life, but in
reality it influences life, as kids imitate art…and smoke. We need to stop
being victimized.
Today Sopranos bring
tax free smokes to market, and make a ton of dough, by driving vans down south, and bringing them to N.Y. It’s the new
prohibition high profit product, and you can be sure lots of mugs are getting killed
by competing thugs. Yea the Russian mob, the traditional mob, all the others,
and the individual entrepreneurs who takes a shot at it. Meanwhile, politicians
whine about losing tax revenues, which in reality just lines their pockets. To
me it’s like one crook crying about another crook taking his money. If it
wasn’t so damned sad, it would be funny.
