Strong Nerves
“I don thunk about it
too, before I offered him da job. I guess I gots caught up ina moment, wat wit
youses all carrying on, and on about him being so clean, an shit. Damn damn, an am and damn…he took alla freaking money,
man…three thousand dollars. Da damned payroll, if any ada guys finds him
they’ll probably keels im.”
They never got him, a
few days later cops found Henry overdosed in a flop house. He was laid back in
an old dilapidated, raunchy bed, the needle still stuck in his arm. A trail of dried blood running down to his palm; his
mouth wide open, and his eyes staring off into whatever evil fantasy brought him
to this dismal end. He had been dead for several days. The money was gone, and
so was his shinny pinky ring. Habits are hard to break, some more than
others, and some worse than most.
It’s horrible how
some of us get so low. When rummies stop drinking, they get the shakes, also known as delirium tremens. Some smokers suffer
similar symptoms. If you start to shake, and rattle, and get nervous,
you may need to see a doctor. Get yourself a prescription for your nerves. Get what
ever help you can get. Habits are hard to break, and we need what ever works to
help us break them. Make sure the meds aren’t addictive, and follow your
doctor’s instructions. Once you overcome the shakes, stop taking the meds. Me, I take
B-Complex 100, (without Vitamin C), everyday along with 100mg of Alpha-Lipoic
Acid. I take my vitamin C separately in the mornings, along with a multi vitamin. You need to stay healthy to break any habit, and you need to have strong nerves.
