Sword of vengeance
She thought of how much she sacrificed to buy her new radio. Fasting for a week, one meal a day. She was so bored, sometimes she slept
to pass the time. Finally one day she had the money, bought the radio, then the
creep came back, and took it from her. Again! But, she got over her despair with
a passion for vengeance.
She went to Goodwill Industries where she found an old radio, it played her favorite station, and that was all she cared about. She put
it in a brand new Macy’s shopping bag, and thinking about her revenge, she
joyfully went straight home. She lingered at the stoop for a bit chatting with her pals, and bragging about her new radio.
“Oh, I can’t take it out of the bag, but it’s better than
the other one,” she laughed out loud as she assured her pals. Then she went up
stairs, plugged it in, and sat there thinking, plotting, and smoking, and waiting for the creep to come back for his just dessert…served very cold.
The next day she went out for a brief stroll, and came
right back. She sat by her window for hours, smoking silently in the dark, waiting, waiting, and thinking about how much she sacrificed for her new radio.
They had taken two of them. The first one was old, and she didn’t mind much as she
was thinking of getting a new one. But the second one was not even a few days old. She went with out for a few days, hungry, so she could afford it, and then
it too was gone.
So there she sat silently in the dark, smoking, and waiting with her brand new, shinny meat cleaver. She had planned her revenge, and bought her sword of vengeance for the occasion. She wanted not only to even the score, but to send the junkies a message.
